"I grew up in a small town down south. Access to fitness facilities or group fitness classes was limited to nonexistent. I basically guessed when making workouts for myself and did Shaun T's insanity tapes religiously. Upon moving to NYC to study dance, I started taking classes sporadically and instantly fell in love. I took my first city job working behind the desk at a cycling studio 6 years ago, where I took my first cycling class. From there I started taking barre, pilates, and dance cardio. That opened me up to Muy Thai and Kickboxing, which then led me to bootcamps and HIIT classes. After taking enough classes, I knew that I wanted to share this knowledge. Small towns, like the one that raised me, deserve the same access to quality workouts, instruction, and equipment that any large city does. Teaching at MYX isn't just a job for me, it's a dream come true. It's an affordable piece of equipment, with certified instructors, that can be delivered to people who desperately deserve it. I am just getting started in the fitness industry, I will help as many people as possible."

What advice would you give to someone going to their first MYX class?

Wear your heart rate monitor! A MYX class is designed to make sure that you are working efficiently and safely, and the heart rate monitor makes the experience customized specifically to you. You can see results and still work in a means that promotes longevity.

How does training in your TIEM's elevate your workout?

I love my TIEM's so much! My Slipstreams and Latus sets are a workout necessity now. They are breathable and shape to your foot nicely. Not only do they elevate your performance with durability and breathability, but they also look great! My TIEM's compliment any workout set on and/or off the bike.

When you aren’t at the studio, what are some of your favorite things to do?

Dance classes, golfing, binge watching the Food Network, and trying new restaurants in New York.

What is the most important thing you have learned during your time as a fitness instructor?

If you believe in people, they will believe in themselves. I realized pretty early on in my journey as an instructor that people are more likely to find motivation and maintain discipline towards their goals when they feel like someone actually believes they will. If someone is dedicating their time to workout with me, I will make sure they are recognized for it and share that I am putting my faith in them to keep pushing. People deserve to be acknowledged for that commitment! I believe in people so much, and I believe that movement can heal.

What inspires you to be active?

There are so many answers to this question, but ultimately I do it for me. I take a lot of pride in being a dependable person. When someone I love needs me, I'm there. In order to be there for my family, friends, boyfriend, and community; I have to make sure that I show up for myself first. I feel like my best self when I am physically active and goal oriented.

"It doesn't have to be dramatic,it just has to get done."

    Favorite fitness accessory?

I am obsessed with my Hidrate Spark water bottle and Bombas Socks!

    Favorite post class snack?

    Apple with almond butter!

Where do you get your playlist inspiration from?

Whatever I am feeling that day is normally reflected in my playlist! Sometimes I am just ready to party with some pop jams and sometimes I am ready to ride dirty to some hip hop. I like a-lot of genres so I just let my mood be the guide.

What is your favorite style class to teach?

For cycling, I like teaching Rhythm based rides. But my true love is dance cardio!

What is your favorite training tip/mantra?

"It doesn't have to be dramatic, it just has to get done." Not every workout you do has to be the hardest, most intricate, uniquely designed set. ust be ready to move your body.

As the world begins to open in 2021, what are you most looking forward to?!

Concerts! I love music so much and love going to concerts during the summertime!

Can you share an embarrassing moment from one of your classes?

One time I was teaching in front of a class of 45 riders and was telling them a story from a recent audition I had been to ( I am still a professional dancer and actively working so they always enjoyed hearing about that part of my life). I had just got done telling them I had booked the job and was doing a celebratory booty pop to be funny. However, my booty pop was too big and I knocked myself off of the podium and onto Bike 4 in the first row. Needless to say, they made jokes about my "professionalism" in the dance industry for a looooonnnggg time after that.

Anything we haven’t asked that you’d like to tell us about?

I am writing a book! Be on the lookout in early 2022 for purchase details!

Looking for a new at-home workout system?! MYX has you covered with top-of-the line equipment and instructors. Even better- they're offering the TIEM community an exclusive discount for $300 dollars off their bikes!
